Boiled Fruit Pudding

Ingredients

Dough

  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Fruit Topping

  • 1 cup fruit (whichever berry you prefer)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup boiling water

Directions

Cream together butter, sugar and salt. Add milk, flour and baking soda to form dough.

Place dough in an 8×8 pan, lightly greased. Cover dough with fruit and sugar. Pour boiling water over top and bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes.

The berries will move thru the dough some will stay in the dough and some will move to the bottom and create a berry sauce.

Serve with a little milk overtop and sprinkled with sugar.
