Difficulty: Easy

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 20 minutes

Servings: 12

Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon Sea salt
  • 2 cups Bob's Red Mill® Masa Harina Yellow Corn Flour
  • 1½-2 cups hot water

Directions

Mix salt into the masa harina corn flour. Slowly pour the water into the dough to get a good consistency. The dough should be firm and springy when touched, not dry or sticky. To make sure your dough is not too dry, you can roll a small dough ball in your hands. Then press it gently. If the sides of the dough crack a little then add a little more warm water.

Preheat a griddle or flat surface on medium-high heat.

Prep a tortilla press by cutting plastic to place between the tortilla dough and tortilla press on both sides.

Divide the dough into 2-inch balls. Press dough between the piece of plastic and press with tortilla press, into 6-inch circles. Pull the plastic off on one side and place the other side of the flattened tortilla dough into your hand. Place flattened dough on a hot griddle or flat surface and cook until the top of the tortilla starts to cook, about 1 minute. Flip to the other side and heat for another minute.
