Aunt Glennis’ Chewy Cake

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 box light brown sugar
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped nuts
  • 1 cup coconut (optional)
  • 1 small (approximately 6-ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips


Beat eggs and butter together; add brown sugar. Gradually add flour; mix well. Stir in vanilla. Fold in nuts, coconut (if desired), and chocolate chips. Baked in a greased and floured 13×9-inch sheet pan at 375˚F for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
