Ingredients

Avocado Spread

  • 3 small avocados, peeled and seeded
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Turkey Burgers

  • 3 pounds ground turkey
  • 3 tablespoons fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • ½ teaspoon ground chipotle chile pepper
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 6 slices Monterey Jack cheese with peppers
  • 6 hamburger buns, havled
  • sliced tomato
  • lettuce
  • pickled jalapeño slices

Directions

Avocado Spread

In a medium bowl, mash all ingredients with a fork or potato masher until smooth. Cover and refrigerate while preparing burgers.

Turkey Burgers

In a large bowl, stir turkey and next 6 ingredients until well combined. Divide mixture into 8 portions, and shape each into a 4-inch patty.

Spray grill rack with nonstick nonflammable cooking spray. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (350° to 400°F). Cook patties for 6 to 8 minutes per side until thermometer registers 165° or until no longer pink in center. Place 1 cheese slice over each patty, and cover with grill lid until cheese is melted.

Spread avocado mixture onto buns, and top with patties and desired toppings.
