Cook time: 15-20 minutes

Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup honey

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400˚F.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.

Cut in the butter using a pastry blender or two forks until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a small bowl, mix together the buttermilk and honey. Add the buttermilk mixture to the flour mixture and stir until just combined.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for 1 to 2 minutes. Roll the dough out to ½-inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter to cut out circles.

Place the biscuits on a buttered cast iron pan and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned.
