Cheesy Maple-Pork Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground maple pork sausage
- 6 slices soft hearty white bread, crusts cut off and halved
- 1 (8-ounce) package shredded Cheddar cheese
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- ½ teaspoon seasoned pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Directions
Spray a 13×9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat, stirring frequently, until browned and crumbly; drain well.
Arrange bread pieces in a single layer in prepared pan, cutting as necessary to cover bottom of dish. Top with sausage and cheese.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and all remaining ingredients; pour over sausage and cheese. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours.
Preheat oven to 350˚. Uncover casserole, and let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Bake until golden brown and center is set, about 40 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
