Difficulty: Easy

Prep time: 10 minutes

Servings: Makes 1 cup peanut butter

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shelled salted peanuts
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • red or green apple, washed and sliced

Directions

Let an adult help you put the peanuts in a food processor with the oil and the salt. Turn the machine on, let it run, and soon enough you’ll have peanut butter! Let an adult help you scrape the peanut butter out of the food processor bowl (the blade is sharp, careful!) into a small bowl.

On the cutting board, with the sharp knife, cut the apple into thick slices. (You might want to ask for help with this, too.) Pick off the seeds and discard. Use the butter knife to spread peanut butter onto the apple slices.
