Made this according to the recipe and it came out so great that I decided to make it again for a party. This time I used my cast iron dutch oven and my big All-Clad stockpot for two 8 pound pork shoulders. Little did I know that the foil being in direct contact with the pork and the lid would cause a problem. The foil started to break down, almost a cross between looking melted and burned. Called my local grocer's meat department, and they said that the vinegar will definitely cause the foil to break down. The meat went in the trash, out of concern that this was a carcinogen and not safe for my guests to eat. I could see flecks of foil on the meat surface, and even read that it could cause a metal taste. If I make it again, I'll skip the foil and just use the lid.

this has become a family favorite and we some times add BBQ sause but most of the time we just eat it with a little extra juice from the dutch oven. On the plate with cole slaw on the side. It is a very easy never fail recipe and we love it.

I watched this show at my nail salon and everything that you made sounded absolutely wonderful! I was happy to find that your web page showed recipes from previously aired shows. I plan to make every one of these recipes. Thank you! Kaye Lynn Farmer

I have prepared this recipe many times for special occasions and it is always very good. The pork is not dried out and is very moist.

This recipe is fantastic! I used a roasting oven instead of the regular oven... got to use it for something other than the turkey once a year... LOL. I made 2 pork roasts at one time in hopes of freezing some for later. My family loved it so much I had a hard time just getting enough pork for dinner. Thank you Paula Deen!!!

5***! So fabulous! Even my picky eater, my 19 year old son, absolutely loved it - he ate it while it was cooking - it was THAT GOOD! Definitely, a keeper! Thank you, Paula!

Fabulous, 5+++! This is a keeper!!! My 19 year old son, who is a very picky eater, kept eating eating on this as it was cooking - he said it was AMAZING! We doubled the recipe for an 8 lb. pork roast, left out the cayenne (because we do not like spicy, hot food), left off 1 Tbsp. pepper, but left in the paprika - it was WONDERFUL!! You will not want to miss this one! Fabulous! Debbie Collinge
