Walnut and Herbed Cheese Log

Prep time: 15 minutes + 2 hours in refrigerator

Servings: 8 to 10

Ingredients

  • 2 (8-ounce) packages sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried tarragon
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 cups toasted chopped walnuts
  • crackers, for serving
  • apple slices, for serving

Directions

In a large bowl, beat Cheddar and next 5 ingredients with a mixer at medium speed until creamy. Shape mixture into an 8-inch log, and roll in walnuts to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving or for up to 3 days. Serve with crackers and apples.
