Air Fryer Fried Cheese Sticks

  • 12 part-skim mozzarella cheese sticks
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • oil, for spraying
  • marinara sauce, for dipping


Separate mozzarella cheese sticks and freeze for 2 hours.

Place cornstarch in a large plastic bag. In a medium bowl, beat eggs. In a shallow dish or pie pan, combine breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese. Place frozen cheese sticks in bag with cornstarch and shake. Remove one cheese stick and dip in beaten egg, shaking off any excess. Press into breadcrumb mixture and place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat with remaining cheese sticks. Spray cheese sticks well with oil.

Working in batches of 6, place cheese sticks in air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd. Set temperature to 400 degrees. Air fry for 7 minutes, shaking basket frequently during cooking. Turn cheese sticks, and air fry for 3 minutes more. Repeat with remaining cheese sticks. Serve with warm marinara sauce on the side.
