Irish Molasses Cake

Ingredients
- 1 cup molasses
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- ¼ teaspoons ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon ginger
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup very hot water
Directions
Cream together the molasses, butter, sugar, and egg.
Mix the dry ingredients in a separate bowl before combining the wet and dry ingredients together. Stir and add in the very hot water. Batter will be thin.
Pour in a greased and floured 9” square glass pan.
Bake at 350˚F for 30 – 40 minutes.
