As many of you know, my goal with Paula’s Perfect Plate is to introduce you to, not simply one meal, but a complete day of delicious healthy recipes. Recipes that work together by combining the appropriate amount of lean proteins, low-glycemic carbohydrates, and healthy fats in such a way as to support optimal energy levels throughout the day.

Today’s PPP starts with a cleaned up and healthy version of a Paula Deen Classic: Eggs Baked with Grits and Ham! Yes, in her new book, Paula Deen Cuts the Fat, Paula managed to create an amazing, hearty breakfast while staying in healthy parameters. Add some fresh fruit and you have the perfect breakfast to sustain you all morning long.
This morning snack is one of my favorite spring recipes, Whole Wheat Muffin with Pear Slices, topped with a sprinkle of Gorgonzola cheese—so rich with flavor, you won’t believe it fits into a healthy lifestyle.
The day only gets better as lunch blends freshness with an added punch of flavor with my Grilled Open-Faced Vegetable, Pesto, and Mozzarella Sandwich. This is especially delicious grilled over lump charcoal but is yummy and easy to make on the stovetop, too.
What?! Another snack… YES, indeed! Enjoy my Apricot, Pistachio Trail Mix for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up!
Let Paula’s amazing Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Pineapple Salsa with a side of Paula’s Colorful Broccoli, Bell Pepper, and Carrot Slaw (both found in Paula Deen Cuts the Fat) wrap up this delicious day!
