Paula’s Perfect Plate: Mother’s Day Brunch

By

Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Is it possible to enjoy a Mother’s Day celebration and still honor your commitment to living a healthier life? You bet it is!

I took a realistic approach when writing this menu. Living a clean, healthy, and balanced 80/20 Lifestyle does not mean we sacrifice flavor or avoid celebrations, so let the Mother’s Day celebration begin!

Knowing that brunch is a big part of Mother’s Day for many families and typically served between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm, I decided to start the day with a simple (yet very delicious) Breakfast Cookie. Just a little substance in your system to start your day.

Now for the delicious brunch menu I have prepared for you (with Paula’s help, of course). All of the brunch recipes can be found in Paula’s new book, Paula Deen Cuts the Fat.

  • Family Reunion Deviled Eggs
  • All New Macaroni Salad
  • Cheddar Chive Muffins
  • Holiday Baked Ham
  • Gooey Butter Cake

Can you imagine enjoying Gooey Butter Cake without guilt? That’s right, with the right planning and the right menu you can meet all of your nutritional goals and still celebrate life.

After that delicious brunch you may never be hungry again (ha!); however, you still have room for a light dinner. Enjoy my Roasted Chicken and dinner salad to cap off the perfect day of delicious food celebrating Mom.
