Meet Champ

By

I’ve always loved animals, and one dog that has been around my family longer than any of the others is Jamie’s dog, Champ. That means I’ve had more time to love on him than any of the others—mine included!

Champ, is an eleven-year-old English Bulldog and big brother to Jamie’s King Charles Cavaliers, Chase and Callie. Bobby actually gave Champ to Jamie & Brooke as a joint wedding/Christmas gift, and he’s blessed this family ever since. Champ is certainly the old man of the furry bunch—in fact, his favorite activity is finding a warm spot in the sun and just layin’ there. With two younger siblings, Champ often finds himself in the middle of a puppy playground, but the ol’ boy usually does a pretty good job of sneakin’ away for some peace and quiet. This big guy loves to eat, but he won’t eat just anything, so I kept Champ in mind when I created a wholesome and delicious line of dog food with my friends over at Hugs Pet Products.

In 2009, three smart women founded Hugs Pet Products: Katie Brewer, Barbara Davison, and Deb Whitlock. It’s a women-owned and family-run business, which is just one the many reasons I think Hugs is so darn special. Y’all know how much family means to me, so it’s only natural that I wanted to work these great folks to create nutritious food for my family’s four-legged babies. Just like me, Hugs is always fixin’ to spoil their pets, so they’ve made the commitment to provide balanced and nutritious dog food without any artificial ingredients.

My Paula Deen Premium Select Dog Food from Hugs features three tasty flavors: Chicken & Rice, Beef & Rice, and Lamb & Rice. Champ, bein’ the little meatball he is, naturally can’t get enough of the Beef & Rice. He’s a very calm dog, but the other dogs know better than to get in his way when that bowl hits the floor. Even better than the taste is that it’s home grown in America!

My Paula Deen Premium Select dog food from Hugs is now available in my General Store and at Food City in Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee, so be sure to pick some up for your dog—young or old—today!

Paula Deen - As a young girl growing up in Albany, Georgia, Paula Deen never dreamed she would become an American icon. As a young mother, Paula was living the American dream — married to her high school sweetheart and raising two adorable boys — when tragedy struck. Her parents died, her marriage failed and she began a prolonged battle with agoraphobia. With her boys in their teens and her family near homelessness, Paula took her last $200, reached deep inside her soul and started The Bag Lady, a home-based catering company that marked the start of Deen's professional cooking career. With sons Jamie and Bobby delivering lunch-and-love-in-a-bag, beginning in June 1989, Paula turned her life around by sharing what she knew best, traditional Southern cooking.
