How-to: Make Flavored Butters

By

If you’re looking to wow guests at your next dinner party or even just create something extra special for dinner with loved ones, consider making a flavored butter to top your favorite dishes, spread on your flaky biscuits, and add flair to just about any dish you could imagine.

Making flavored butter may seem daunting, but it truly couldn’t be easier. And lucky for you, there’s no better place to learn about butter than from the butter queen—Paula Deen! Our team is here to help make sure you’ve got the process down pat.

First, consider what dish you’re serving, then find the right mix of flavors that you’d like to have in your butter to bring out the flavors in the dish. We recommend having two to four add-ins—consider fruits, veggies, maple syrup, honey, nuts, herbs, bacon, cheeses, and spices. Now, get to making with our easy 4-step process below.

1. Chop all your ingredients, as needed, and make sure your butter is softened.

2. Stir together all ingredients in a small bowl.

3. Place on a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap and roll into a 1 ½- to 2-inch log. Wrap and refrigerate until ready to use.

4. Cut into ¼-inch-thick slices to serve.
