Difficulty: Easy
1 ½ box Twinkies
1 large can crushed pineapple
½ cup sugar
1 large box of vanilla instant pudding, prepared
1 container whipped topping
4 bananas
Chopped Pecans, optional
Maraschino cherries, optional
Line 13 x 9 pan with Twinkies. Mix sugar and pineapple together in a pan and bring to a boil. Pour over twinkies. Cool slightly. Spread pudding over pineapple mixture. Slice bananas and place over pudding. Top with whipped topping. Optional: top with cherries and chopped pecans. Refrigerate for a few hours before serving.

I love this pie. I have made it several times in the past. I don't use the sugar though, I just layer the twinkies, bananas, pineapple, sometimes cherries, pudding, whipped topping, and then toasted pecans. I have also drizzed chocolate sauce/syrup over the top and it is delicious. Love it in the summer.

This was very good. I liked the complimenting flavors of the pineapple and bananas. It was too mushy for us, so we added some cookies to give it more texture. I probably won't make it again, just because I'm not the biggest banana pudding fan, but if I did, I would half the recipe. It ended up being pretty expensive for what it was-2 boxes of twinkies ($6), whipped cream ($2), pudding ($1), etc. but the ease of the recipe made up for it.
