This recipe is DELICIOUS!!!!!! I never ate sweet potatoes before I made this for my fiance because every recipe i tried was a failure but not this one. The half and half gives it a little extra something. yummy!!!

I love this recipe the shame is that the only time I get to eat it is on a holiday. My husband doesn't like sweet potatoes and I love them! Thank you!

First a foremost I must say how much I love me some Paula Deen.I began watching your show about seven years ago.Yes I've tried some of the recipes and the results were great. I've been cooking since the age of 8 years old, my mom believed in the children cooking and so forth.I appreciate her instealing this in us because I now have a wonderful love for food and cooking and feeding others. I'm seasoned I'm 41 with two girls 20 and 16 years of age.My girls always say I'm obsessed with watching your show. My girls and I along with a friend visited Savannah 2009 for spring break it was a gift to me because my friend knew how much I loved Paula Deen. We came all that way and didn't get to go to your restaurant I was so heartbroken because I had my heart set on it. I love that you came out with your own cookware and utensils although I can't afford them due to me not working. That is one of my missions to strive towards getting the whole line I just love you to pieces Ms.Paula. You have a very warm and loving family and my prayer is that the good Lord continue blessing you and your family.Out of all the cooking shows that I watch on foodnetwork I love yours the best. Be Blessed in this holiday season....

Hi Laurie, You typically boil the potatoes until fork tender, before mashing them.

I pulled out my mother's recipe for sweet potato casserole which I would guess she wrote down on a recipe card in the 1950's. IDENTICAL! Right down to the 1/4 tsp of nutmeg. And my mother had never been any further south than Marietta Ohio! How'd you find my mother's recipe, Paula?!?!

This is an awesome recipe and will be a staple for our holidays going forward. My family raved about this side dish and my husband loves sweet potatoes and he could not get enough. I am glad I double the recipe. Thanks Paula for sharing all of your recipes, as me and my family enjoy them all.

I made your sweet Potato Bake for our thanksgiving Dinner and everyone loved it, so I am now to make it for our Christmas Dinner!!!!
By Suzanne Abbate on December 13, 2011
From a Southern connoisseur of sweet potato bakes, casseroles, crunches and crumbles, I can honestly say that this is the best one I have ever made! It is the creamiest, tastiest version of any of the recipes I have made in the past. My family completely agreed at Thanksgiving and said it was their favorite thing on the menu! Except for my chocolate chip grand marnier pecan pie of course ; )

I made this for Thanksgiving and it was EXCELLENT!!!!! It was easy and soooo good! I already have requests to make it for Christmas! Thanks Paula! Everything I make of yours is wonderful!!!

If you want a sure fire winner, this is it! I have made this for many gatherings and it gets unbelievable raves. The pecans and sweet potatoes make a delightful combination. It is so easy to whip up and serve. The crunchy glazed pecans on the top have many spoons waging war! WINNER!
