Recipe Courtesy of Paula DeenServings: 4 to 6 servings
Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: 25 min
Difficulty: Easy
16 ounces green beans
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and freshly cracked black pepper
Bring a large pot of water to a boil over medium heat. Add the beans and blanch them for 2 minutes. Immediately remove the beans from the water and add them to an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Drain.
In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and green beans. Cover, and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Uncover, then stir in the vinegar, honey, onion powder, and salt and pepper, to taste. Cook to desired degree of doneness, about 4 to 6 minutes.
Transfer the beans to a serving bowl and serve.

Hi question If I wanted to serve this dish cold would I blanch the green beans longer? Or follow the receipe and chill till I wanted to serve? I want to avoid soggy beans and have the salad crisp Thanks

I made this side dish for dinner for my husband and son and we all loved it. I was watching your cooking show and you had your son on and made this dish so I had fresh green beans in the refrigerator so I decided to try the recipe. Thank you so much for a wonderful dish that we will enjoy many times in the future. I love your show...

These were amazing! I know they're supposed to be a side dish but my friend and I kept going back for more, eating them without anything else. Super easy & super affordable.

Made this for my 8 year old who loves balsamic anything...and everyone loved it. Sweet and tangy. We eat fresh veggies every night and this was a nice change from our regular green beans, also fast and easy.
