This recipe was printed (to advertise Oreos) in magazines in the late 70s, before folks got so down on raw egg yolks. I still make it myself, every July 4. Always buy fresh eggs for it and no one has ever gotten sick but I would be wary to serve it to someone with immune system problems. I put in about 3x as many Oreos as the recipe calls for...after all, this is a once-a-year treat!

So surprised to find this....have been making this one since the late '70!! I always make a double batch, one is not enough for a party. For large parties I scoop the ice cream into cupcakes liners to make it easier to serve.

I love ice cream but hate sugar free. I am a diabetic, what can I use instead of the condensed milk to get the sugar count down?
