Ingredients

  • 1 (12 oz) jar crunchy peanut butter, about 1 1/2 cups
  • 1 (16 oz) box powdered sugar
  • 1/2 lb butter, (2 sticks)
  • 1 (12 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

Mix together peanut butter, sugar and butter and form into small balls; chill.

Step 2

In the top of a double boiler over medium heat, melt the chocolate chips, stirring until smooth.

Step 3

Using a toothpick, dip each ball into the chocolate and cover about 3/4 of the ball, leaving a round peanut butter "eye" showing. Place on wax paper to cool.

You may want to

You may want to check the amount of butter in this recipe. There is much more butter in this than other recipes. There was very little taste of peanut butter and the texture was more like frosting. I throw it out , at least I didn't waste the chocolate. I cut the butter down to 1/2 stick and it was much better.

Paula, I am sure

Paula, I am sure these are delicious but they aren't pretty like a buckeye...We make buckeyes in Ohio because we ARE the Ohio Buckeyes...Ours add one more ingredient that makes them shine!

My family loves

My family loves these. I only make them around the holiday season as a special treat for everyone. My daughter usually helps me. So I guess it is becoming a tradition.

I'm not done mak

I'm not done making mine yet and I'm already giving this five stars based on the little sample I took. I've got the peanut butter mixture cooling in the fridge and soon I'll be melting the chocolate.

Paula, you're a gem! Be sure to tell your crew I love them too. Yes, I rhymed that on purpose. :p

My husband loves

My husband loves these peanut butter candies. They are so easy to make. Thanks for the recipe and video. I love to watch you do it before I try doing it myself. It makes the process more successful for me as I am a visual learner.

I am from OHIO and a true buckeye and this is a great recipe minus the crunchy. I prefer creamy . It is more authentic. LOL. Like your new network Paula.
