Volcano Punch Recipe by Paula Deen

  • 1 bottle sparkling wine, or Champagne
  • 4 cups cranberry juice
  • 2 quarts orange juice
  • 2 quarts orange sherbet, softened
  • 15 lbs dry ice chips
  • vodka, optional


Pour sparkling wine into a large bowl. Add cranberry and orange juice. Scoop sherbet into bowl until it has produced a nice coating over the top. If you want to raise or lower the alcohol content in the punch, add vodka or clear soda respectively. Yields about 1 gallon.


Drop in pieces of dry ice for steaming effect, but note that no one should put dry ice in his/her mouth. Ladle into cups.
