There is not one item of information that you give so generously that I can't use at one time or another. Enjoy your recipes also and miss seeing you and your sons on TV.

I am going to do my pumpkins this way and them combine to make a pumpkin-pineapple pie for Thanksgiving....I made one a long time ago but can't find my recipe. Wish I could remember but doing my pumpkins this way will save me time. Thanks

This is quite timely as have been staring at an uncarved pumpkin since Halloween.
I knew there was a way to do this but havent had time to look it up. Thank you for sharing this post.

I love this. I am hoping my pumpkin isn't too stringy to use! Easy to follow video. Thinking of making some of my own with cooking.
Love you Paula Dean

No one has a plain old fashion pumpkin pie receipts with home made pumpkin puree they all call for can pumpkin. Would you please help me, I know it's to late for Thanksgiving but I could use it for Christmas. I got 5 neck pumpkins and I cooked them up like gramma but she isn't here anymore she had the receipt in her head. Can you help me out, I stopped watching the food network since what they did to you. You remind me of my grandma's cooking, she taught me on a old cook stove at our camp it use to be her home but to much for her. We use it as a camp ( for summer and hunting ).

When I process pumpkin instead of baking it I process it in my pressure canner @10 lbs of pressure for 8 min. Fill the canner no more than 2/3 full. I wash, split and clean the seeds and strings out, place in the canner skin up and after 8 min I can take the skin off with a serving spoon, scoop up the pumpkin and whirl in the blender and ta-da. I learned this from the extension office in Defiance County, OH. Easy Peasy

Does the size of the pumpkin make any difference. I have two that are twice the size of the pumpkin in the video.
