Susan's Caldo Soup Recipe by Susan Green

  • 1/2 lb smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch slices
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup onions, diced
  • 1 1/2 quarts chicken broth
  • 5 new red potatoes, quartered
  • 1 teaspoon Paula Deen House Seasoning
  • 1 (10 oz) package frozen chopped collard greens, thawed and drained


Step 1

Melt the butter over medium heat in a large saucepan. Add the onion, sausage and Paula Deen House Seasoning, and sauté until the onion is transparent, about 10 minutes. Add the chicken broth, potatoes and collard greens.

Step 2

Cover and cook for 20 minutes. Before serving, mash up some of the potatoes to thicken the soup.

I loved seeing S

I loved seeing Susan aka Bubbles on pdn. I love this recipe cause it is easy and one pot meal. I wasn't even going to cook today but watched this video and since it is a rainy day here, I thought would be perfect with a pone of cornbread. Thanks again Paula for a great dish!
