Snow Peas with Orange Liqueur Recipe by Paula Deen

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 (10 oz) packages frozen snow peas
  • 1 (8 oz) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 1/4 cup orange-flavored liqueur (recommended
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint, or 1 1/2 tablespoons dried mint
  • 1 teaspoon salt


Bring 1 cup of water to a boil and add the sugar. Drop in the snow peas and cook until barely tender, drain and return to pan. Add the water chestnuts, orange liqueur, butter, mint and salt. Cook over medium-low heat until heated through.
