I made this for Thanksgiving and my whole family including unts, uncles, parents, cousins, they do not like sweet potato casseroles but my husband and i do so i decided to make it since it was at my house this year. EVERYONE LOVED IT and requested it for Christmas which was also at my house. So if you have people that typically don't like sweet potato casserole, from my experience they will after they taste this recipe. It is DELICIOUS!!!!! AND SO SIMPLE my 8 year old could do it by herself. Try it once, you won't be sorry!!!

Wahoooo! I've made various Sweet potato dishes and this one beats all the others hands down. My family raved at Thanksgiving and gave explicit instructions for its appearance on Christmas Eve. I tell them that Paula Deen has been in my kitchen. Well, I do watch the show while I'm cooking or baking up a masterpiece! Thanks!

I tried adding a cup of very well drained crushed pineapple, was out of regular white sugar, so used lt brown instead, then added 1/2 cup chopped pecans. Topped with miniature marshmallows and THEN the topping...boy was it ever yummy! My family absolutely LOVED this dish! They requested it again for Christmas dinner! So, I am printing out a copy of the recipe for their stockings! Thanks so much Paula for all the fabulous recipes! You are an Angel! God Bless and have a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Love Ya! Like many others here, I love this recipe! I got the recipe from my friends mom who made this for Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. I made it last year for our Christmas party at work and for our family gathering and everybody raved about it! I've been asked to bring it again this year...count me in!

I am not much of a cook, but I chose to make these for our family's Thanksgiving of more than 30 people. I was very nervous about it, and increased the recipe x 3. All I heard all day was how great they were and if I could share the recipe. Thanks Paula!!

Just wanted to let you all know that 1 29oz can of sweet potatoes makes 3 cups of mashed sweet potatoes. Hope this helps with your baking. Happy Holidays

This is absolutely the best! I thought I'd miss the traditional marshmallow topping but this was absolutely perfect without. To save time, I used 1 large can of candied yams (drained & then mashed) instead of making mashed sweet potatoes & I couldn't have been happier with the results. Everyone at Thanksgiving loved it. Mmmmm :)

I have been on a low carb diet since April 3, 2009. The only craving I have had is for sweet potatoes. On my cheat day, I made this recipe, but I made it with Splenda. For the topping, I made it with the brown sugar with Splenda. It was the best sweet potato dish I have ever had. Everybody wants the recipe!

I have been making these for about 5 years now for Thanksgiving AND Christmas... It is always requested! Must use the Heavy Cream... worth the extra calories! Yummmmmm!!!!! I was never a fan of sweet potatoes until I made this dish... it sounded delish, and went over VERY well. It's now a staple at our family gatherings!

My mother passed away a year ago so this past Thanksgiving was turn to do it all on my own. I decided to turn to the tried and true\, Paula Deen, for my sweet potato recipe. I chose this recipe but when I made the dish, I erroneously added the topping ingredients to the base recipe. I thought, "uh oh - well, what the heck!" So I made another batch of topping to add on top, baked it and can i tell you when I say it was the star of the show - I mean EVERYONE licked their chops for more! I even had to share the recipe, along with my error, with a friend for her to share at her family gathering at Christmas! DELISH!!!! and if you mess up - go with it, it might just be a huge success!!! Thanks Paula!!
