Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat, stirring to break up the lumps, until all of the pink is gone from the meat. Get an adult to help you drain off the fat. Add the onion and the green pepper, and cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes, with juice, and the Worcestershire sauce, oregano, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat to low. Simmer the mixture for about 15 minutes.

2. Fill medium pot half full of water. Add 1 teaspoon salt. Bring the water to a boil. Stir in the noodles and boil for about 8 minutes, until tender. Get an adult to help you drain the noodles, Return the noodles to the pot. Pour the tomato mixture over the noodles and stir until blended.

3. Put the noodle mixture into a baking dish that you have sprayed with cooking spray. Top with cheese. Bake for about 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted. Enjoy it has a family meal, then refrigerate the leftovers.

4. Take leftovers to school in a small microwave-safe container with a tight-fitting lid. Before heating, unsnap the lid to allow steam to escape. Heat casserole in the microwave oven for about 90 seconds.

Wow, "Rhea" found this recipe so awful that she threw it in the trash, yet she gave it 5 stars (or trees, or bullseyes, whatever those thingies are). It's your standard Beef-a-roni, Hotdish, American Chop Suey, Hungarian Goulash, depending on which part of the country you're from, or the fictitious "Beefarino" (if you're a Seinfeld fan).

We added some sea salt and garlic when putting it together for extra flavor. another interesting idea is to leave out the egg noodles and replace with two tubes of croissants. Roll out 1 tube on bottom of 13 x 9 pan. Spray with butter and a bit of garlic, then bake for 7 minutes. Take out of oven and layer the meat mixture and shredded cheese over the croissants, then rollout the second tube on top and bake for 20 mins. Optionally, sprinkle chilli powder before rolling out second tube on top. Enjoy!

I followed this recipe to a T and was hoping it would be as good as what everyone was saying, it was horrible. It was so bland, my son ate it after he covered it in ranch dressing but me and my 2 year old wouldn't eat it. I told my husband to pick something up for himself on his way home because dinner was going in the trash. I have never thrown out an entire dish because it tasted so bad, but tonight I did. I will never make this again.

Was not at all impressed with this dish. Did not remotely resemble anything like a cheeseburger rather a goulash. I have a lot of leftovers that will more than likely end up going to waste.

Very disappointed. Nothing like a cheeseburger at all. More like a goulash. Leftovers will probably end up in the disposal.

This too shall pass. FN is going to miss you, and a lot of their viewers. You are loved and respected by so many people, so think of it as a glitch in your life, and jump over it.

Just wanted you to know I stand beside you 100%. What happened in the past should stay in the past. Had it been a man the situation would have been totally different. Have stopped my Food Network Magazine and do not watch the channel except for your sons shows. Keep the faith. Love you and miss seeing your smiling face on TV. Hope to see you back on tv soon.

Paula, we miss seeing you on your cooking shows! How wrong everyone was to judge you so quickly! We love you and are not viewing the FN shows anymore, and have taken them off our DVR schedule also. We are still behind you and can't wait till you pop up somewhere on TV. We just subscribed to your new Magazine, but it won't be the same. :( Know that lots of loving thoughts and prayers are coming your way, hopefully you can find some comfort in that. Jan Chiappetta
