Recipe Courtesy of Paula DeenServings: 6 to 8 servings
Cook Time: 35 min
Difficulty: Easy
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
3 large eggs, beaten
1 1/2 to 2 cups pecan halves
2 tablespoons good-quality bourbon
1 (9-inch) deep-dish pie shell, unbaked
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
In a medium bowl, stir together the sugar and melted butter. Add the corn syrup, eggs, pecans, and bourbon, and stir until all ingredients are combined. Pour mixture into an unbaked pie shell, and place on a heavy-duty cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees F, and continue to bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until pie is set. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.
Excellent tasting pecan pie recipe! I wish that I would have read some of the reviews about adding 20-25 minutes to the cooking time prior to serving for Easter brunch. It was really good drizzled over vanilla icecream...Paula, please change the cook time on your recipe.

This recipe is GREAT!!! Dont leave out the Bourbon! I substituted light corn syrup and mixed it with a little maple syrup and it wasn't too sweet as that can happen with the dark corn syrup. This is great for a new cook. I would also recommend sticking to her cook time and take it out. It didnt look cooked to me but when I left it out it kept cooking and it turned out PERFECT!!!Paula this recipe made my first thanksgiving memorable and made my husband proud!!! Thank You!

This is an excellent recipe. However, as with many recipes, you may need to adjust the cooking time. I added about 25 extra minutes to the time for a firm filling. Also, roasting the pecans before placing them into your pie. It definitely aides the flavor factor.

Paula, we absoutely love, love your pecan pies. Last year we lived in Wytheville, Virginia after I lost my job, times were hard, you hear me. Anyway, about the only thing we could afford was Paula Deen's pecan pies at Walmart. We are here to tell you, that was the BEST thing we ever put in our mouth. I'll guarantee you I, Phil and our 29 year old Marine son Sam, ate at least 3 pies a day. It was a good thing too because we couldn't affor much more. Phil (my husband of 33 years) is diabetic and insulen dependent, and it did not affect him at all, thank God. Anyway, we just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed your pies. We are headed back to Walmart (Jacksonville, Florida) tomorrow in hopes they will have your pies. We have checked for the last couple of weeks, but none yet. Ship um out girl, we are waiting. Hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving and an even Merrier Christmas. God Bless

I can't find a recipe for the chocolate pie/cake Paula made last week. It was melted chocolate and had nuts, etc..... I was then poured into a flour pie shell (which you said was store bought). You also sad it was a Kentucky Derby dessert. When it was cut you cut right through the pie tin. I hope this will help you know which recipe I mean. It was a hectic day and I wasn't paying close attention. I watch your show religiously and love Paula and Uncle BaBa and the "boys". I wanted to serve this pie on Thanksgiving but now I don't know. Thanks for your show, it helps my depression and everything else. Sandi
