Recipe Courtesy of Paula DeenServings: 3 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
2 tablespoon butter
Paula Deen’s House Seasoning
2 tablespoon grated onion
3 tablespoon freshly chopped parsley leaves
1 1/2 lb ground beef
3 eggs
6 slices bacon, cooked
3 hamburger buns
3 english muffins
6 glazed donuts
Mix the ground beef, chopped parsley and grated onion together in a large mixing bowl. Season liberally, with House Seasoning. Form 3 hamburger patties.
Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Add the burgers and cook until desired temperature, 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
Fry bacon in a hot pan until crisp. Remove and drain on paper towels. Set aside.
While burgers are cooking, heat a non-stick pan, over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons butter. Crack 3 eggs into the pan. Cook until the yolks are just set and still slightly runny and remove.
Place burger patties on English muffins or buns, and if desired, on glazed donuts, as the buns. Top each burger with 2 pieces of bacon and a fried egg.
I bet this sucker is tasty like nobody's business...but at 1800 calories...that's enough caloric intake for a whole day and then some! They should rename it "The Lady's Last Supper."

This is incredible, and tastes delicious. Paula Deen doesn't owe you or anyone an apology for her health problem, nor has she ever pretended to be a custodian of healthy living. She also isn't accountable for others' enjoyment of her indulgent cooking. No one forces you to watch Paula Deen. If you are so offended by recipes such as this one then go read "Eating Well" magazine and chew on some saltine crackers. Anyone who watches Paula Deen regularly and is *shocked* that recipes like this one might contribute to health problems needs to retake high school health class and hold themselves accountable. I love Paula's Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding and make it regularly. Those commentors below who espouse the need to *censor* recipes that they think are too fattening need to check themselves and read "Fahrenheit 451". Sorry, my oven usually only goes to 400.

Lol at blaming Paula Deen for making people fat, diabetes or no. This is the same argument levied at McDonalds a few years ago. Guess what, Paula's recipes don't make you fat, your own inability to compensate for excess calories like the above does. Eating something like this once in a great while can totally be offset by restrictions in other meals and/or exercise.

Lars and Amy...shut up. This looks bomb and you can't blame her for all these fat people you see on the sidewalk. She's not forcing them to stuff this in their mouths. So what, she got diabetes and now she's gotta change who she is? It's not like any of us didn't see it coming. This is what she's known for, she LOVES butter and everything un healthy, she may be killing herself...but she's happy so let her be. There are way too many "healthy" recipes out there and people soliciting a healthier life style. This recipe isn't going to replace your oatmeal and blueberries in the morning but it's something delicious to indulge in. Relax. Looks delicious and can't wait to have a bite.

I made this today, it was one of the best things I have ever had.

Oh, lighten up people! I think Paula's the greatest and it's really nobody's business what the state of her health is. She never said she is a health food cook. If that is what you're looking for, don't watch her or read her books. I think this is one of the best recipes ever. Like Heaven. You just keep following your regular workout routine and fast for a week after you eat it. Absolutely amazing! Hope you are feeling ok Paula.

Honestly, I don't understand why everyone is so upset about Ms. Deen's recently announced illness. Her personal health is her business, my health is my business, and your health is your business and, more importantly, YOUR responsibility. I repeat, it is NOT Ms. Deen's responsibility to tell you what you should be eating. She is not Dr. Weil; she doesn't make healthy food, she makes Southern food. That's what she does. Your health is in your hands, and she has NEVER said recipes like this one are good for you. See, I would agree with all the upset folks IF she was promoting her dishes as "healthy", "low-fat" or "rich in nutrients", because then she would be a shameless liar. But she doesn't say that about most of her recipes. It is my opinion that the type of people who get upset that Paula D. "hid" her diabetes from us (she is not obligated to tell us any of her private medical details, by the way) are the same type of idiots who want to sue McDonald's for making them, or their children, overweight. To be upset at Paula D. (or McDonalds for that matter) is to admit that A.) You didn't KNOW a lot of these foods, when eaten often, are ruinous to your health, and B.) You thought that P.D. was lying to you by saying that foods like this doughnut burger are healthy diet options, in which case you must be hard of hearing, because she never said that. That being said, I have never seen her show, read any of her cookbooks, or tried any of her recipes, so please don't take this as some die-hard fan's plea for mercy on behalf of her beloved cooking icon. In conclusion, she seems like a nice lady and my prayers go out to her; I hope this disease doesn't kill her. Would I ever make this brunch burger? Absolutely not. I prefer sushi. P.D. has not deceived anyone; to deceive someone you must tell a falsehood, such as "The Lady's Brunch Burger is high in vitamins and is a perfect addition to a healthy menu". I mean, come on, diabetes diagnosis aside, look at her, she's overweight!! That alone should tell you that this type of food is not good for you. Just my two cents.

Get over yourself people and stop badgering this woman. Paula doesn't owe an apology to anyone. She is a COOK and gives your recipes to cook. She is not a health care provider meal planning for you. Whatever you cook and eat is on YOU not on Paula! If you are a diabetic, then you would know this meal is not one for you. She doesn't make a special diet for anyone and her medical conditions should not influence her cooking for the public. Her medical condition would influence meals she makes for herself. People crack me up. First it was McDonald's that caused your fatness and heart disease. Now it is Paula Dean causing fatness and T2 Diabetes. Paula hold your head high, and stand tall. You are in good company. People, please take a look in the mirror, the person you see is the one who contributed the most to your conditions. YOU. Your genes, your lifestyle, your activity, your diet, your choices.

You hid your diabetes until you had a contract with a diabetes drug maker. Do you have enough money? I used to humor your unhealthy recipes as a novelty. But your greed demands that I get anything with your name on it out of my house. You are a horrible person. You make horrible food. You represent everything thats wrong with America. GREED!

The Lady's Brunch Burger. I used to watch Paula from time to time. But since I have seen the Lady's Brunch Burger, I will never again. Paula should be ashamed of herself. It's appalling and disgusting. She doesn't even have the professionalism to include the Fat or Calorie count. Good by Paula. HAVE A NICE LIFE!! Frank

I will say a few things. I've not made this burger, and it does not look that great, but I would try it. But, for you individuals to come on here and scold people or Paula because of the publishing of this.. you are idiots. Well, you prove we are all entitled to our opinion, but so WHAT if it is unhealthy.. Things can be eaten in moderation or on occasion that will not kill you. Give me a break.
By Bob Weaddababyeetsaboy on January 18, 2012
Paula explains that she promotes everything in moderation (so is therefore not responsible for promoting recipes that cause, say, Type II diabetes). That is why she recommends eating only 1/10 of this burger for a meal.

This is just plain gross and if walked for one minute in our beautiful city and saw the amount of fat people who actually would eat this and not exercise you should be ashamed. And, accountable for deceiving your "customers".
By Amy on January 18, 2012
Imagine the gall it must take to pump this recipe while having undisclosed Type II Diabetes. Paula, you owe a big, heartfelt apology to your fans. Better yet, show that you are serious by having this recipe taken it down on the grounds that it is unduly hazardous to everyone's health.

There is no way I could eat this as a meal.. I can't stand sweet meats ..I was born and raised in the south and it grosses me out to even see people eat syrup on their sausage..Much less sugary hamburgers .and bacon....eww... I would have to seperate this to eat it. and for different times of the day.. runny eggs.... {ohhhh vomit} I guess I just have a weak stomach...My eggs have to be cooked well... to each their own I suppose. But Paula.. I do love ya gal.. and you are such a beatiful lady... hugs to ya.

Not very original...we have this at the NC State Fair! It's called the Krispy Kreme burger (it just doesn't have the egg).
By Anonymous on October 12, 2011
I think this would be really good with a sausage patty instead of the hamburger. I haven't tried this as yet but sausage seems like it would be really good too.
