Ingredients Add to grocery list

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard powder
1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoon orange juice
1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 cup ketchup
1   (3 1/2-pound) chicken, cut into 8 pieces

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F or prepare a grill (brush the grill grate lightly with oil).

In a large bowl, stir together all ingredients except the chicken. Reserve 1/3 cup of the barbeque sauce; set aside. Add the chicken to the remaining sauce in the bowl, turning to coat.

all your food sounds and looks great I just can't afford a lot of ingredients cause I can't afford a lot of food so I have to stick to making corn bread and veggie soup low price ground beef to make meat loaf. I wish my family could eat good like you guy's do. I had the pleasure of meeting you one time right before you got married that's when I had a job and my husband did to but he lost his job and I lost mine from getting hurt on the job and getting fired for it we lost the first and only house we had now we've been renting for over 8 yrs but at least we have a roof over our head I can't work no more I have iron in my back and arthritis in any spot you can name ha ha. I do feel blessed that I got to meet you at your first restaurant on a day trip we took just to eat there no more days like that though. Thank you for sighing my book I was able to get so I can cook collards now a different way than my mom (both my parents are deceased) I thought hers was good but yours is a little better. Take care, Stacey

You can use a Charcoal grill. But you never ever pre-sauce your chicken before you grill. With all the sugar in it, it will burn black. Wait to put the sauce on during the last 10-15 minutes. If you want to make it extra good, either marinate in Orange juice or brine the chicken for 4-6 hours. You'll get extra juicey chicken that way. These boys know how to cook. But when it comes to outdoor grilling, they don't have a clue.

I have just tried the Deen Bros. Quiche and even the fussy husband that never eats quiche loved it. The only substitute was low salt turkey bacon for regular. It will now be one of our menu items. Keep those recipes coming and thanks for all your cooking

I can't wait to try this recipe! Can this be grilled on a charcoal grill or do you have to use a gas grill? Thanks. Debbie Collinge

By dacollinge on September 18, 2010

This is the easiest and best I have ever tasted. When I made it, I didn't have the orange juice so I used two tablespoons of TANG powdered orance drink mix and I left out the cayenne pepper (too hot for me). I also added 1/4 cup honey mustard instead of the mustad powder. Try it...y'all will love it.
