Recipe Courtesy of Paula DeenServings: 3-4 servings
Prep Time: 5 min
Cook Time: 45 min
Difficulty: Easy
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard powder
1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoon orange juice
1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 cup ketchup
1 (3 1/2-pound) chicken, cut into 8 pieces
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F or prepare a grill (brush the grill grate lightly with oil).
In a large bowl, stir together all ingredients except the chicken. Reserve 1/3 cup of the barbeque sauce; set aside. Add the chicken to the remaining sauce in the bowl, turning to coat.
Arrange the coated chicken in a roasting pan or on the grill. Cook (covered, if grilling) for 40 to 45 minutes or until cooked through, basting with the reserved 1/3-cup sauce after 20 minutes.

You can use a Charcoal grill. But you never ever pre-sauce your chicken before you grill. With all the sugar in it, it will burn black. Wait to put the sauce on during the last 10-15 minutes. If you want to make it extra good, either marinate in Orange juice or brine the chicken for 4-6 hours. You'll get extra juicey chicken that way. These boys know how to cook. But when it comes to outdoor grilling, they don't have a clue.

I have just tried the Deen Bros. Quiche and even the fussy husband that never eats quiche loved it. The only substitute was low salt turkey bacon for regular. It will now be one of our menu items. Keep those recipes coming and thanks for all your cooking

I can't wait to try this recipe! Can this be grilled on a charcoal grill or do you have to use a gas grill? Thanks. Debbie Collinge

This is the easiest and best I have ever tasted. When I made it, I didn't have the orange juice so I used two tablespoons of TANG powdered orance drink mix and I left out the cayenne pepper (too hot for me). I also added 1/4 cup honey mustard instead of the mustad powder. Try it...y'all will love it.
