Terri,
You're right, sugar dissolves better with warm water, but also the tea seeps in better with warm water. They are "cold brew tea bags" because the tea is specifically for cold tea drinks. After you've poured the warm water into the pitcher, make sure to start cooling it so you can drink the tea cold!

it says cold brew tea bags and cold water. why is the water boiled? i can see the boiling water and adding sugar to make the sugar solution. sugar doesn't dissolve well in cold liquids. will try that bit next time i make tea. i believe it's also known as a sugar syrup.

Why is everyone on here talking about Paula Deen? Look at the top of this page. It says, "Recipe courtesy of Martha Hall Foose." Why does she not get any credit?

You don't have to mix up a sugar solution. Just put the sugar into the tea while it is still hot. It will dissolve very well and you won't have to dirty another vessel. Lipton tea is the absolute best, for this cook and her family.

What kind of tea bags do y'all use? I LOVE sweet tea, but every time I try to make it at home, I am not satisfied...it comes out watered-down, blah, and not very sweet. I followed this recipe and a few others that are supposedly great. I thought maybe it's the tea bags--I have tried both Lipton and Luzianne, but would another kind be better? Any suggestions for perfecting the flavor would be fantastic! Thank you! ![]()

@AnnetFoley: Watch a few episodes of the sitcom "Scrubs" and you will soon learn what an appletini is. It is not a fruit drink, but a cocktail.
By Barfly on January 18, 2012
You had a guest on your show and she talked about making a fruit drink, that she called appletini. I could not find it in you beverage drinks. How can I get the recipe? Thanks, Annet

A picnic without Paula's iced tea would not be a picnic. My whole family loves your tea and I always make plenty to keep the squabbling down. Since summer is here and the heat index is so high I'll be drinking my heart out. Thanks

Lightening Fast White Bean Dip was simple and quick to make. Has a great taste and some of my guest like the nutritional value. (For me it doesnt matter, the more butter the better!)
