The recipe is very easy and was a family favorite. Only thing I will do next time around is leave out the salt. Otherwise it was fabulous!

I actually made this last night for dinner. Came out wonderful. I did however omit the bacon, and let me tell you, it really didn't matter. Still came out delicious, but I think the recipe will have to be doubled next time around. Went way too fast. I also made the cheese biscuits the previous night and just warmed those up, put the gravy on top, and enjoyed the reactions from my family. We all loved it!

AMAZING!!!! Made this for the men in my life (hubby, son and brother) one Saturday morning and they ate the entire skillet full. They then began to discuss everything they wanted to put this gravy on and the list pretty much stopped at nothing including pasta and hamburgers. Hilarious! Thank you so much for such a delicious and suprisingly easy recipe. I've never even been able to make homemade gravy before!

I haven't made a Paula Deen recipe that we haven't liked. The Sausage and Gravy is a wonderful treat in our home, especially when all 5 kids are here for breakfast!! I have to double the recipe so we have some leftovers..

I AM A ROOKIE IN THE KITCHEN..ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO MAKING GRAVY. HOWEVER, THIS RECIPE WAS SIMPLE AND TURNED OUT REALLY GOOD. I USED GROUND TURKEY INSTEAD OF SAUSAGE. I WAS FEARFUL THAT THERE WOULD NOT BE ENOUGH GREASE BUT IT TURNED OUT REALLY GOOD. I CHOPPED THE BACON INSTEAD OF PUTTING WHOLE SLICES.

Recipe sounded good because I like gravy made with bacon grease. One problem is that it didn't say what to do with the bacon..just put strips in pan whole, dice them or whathaveyou! So I diced them and fried everything just like you said. We didn't like this at all. Perhaps it was the onions. Love onions but never quite think of them as something I put in gravy. It was worth a try and it might have been me...who knows. Have eaten at your place and am wild about your food. This just wasn't it.

I like Sausage Gravy and homemade biscuits but those frozen Pillsbury ones are hard to beat.
I fry sausage in skillet, drain all the fat. Remove Sausage and pat dry with paper towelling. Use about 2 Tablespoons of bacon drippings and 2 tablespoons of flour, stire until well mixed but not brown. Add about 2 cups milk (I use 2% fat) and stir until it begins to thicken, then add the sausage back.
This is good for supper too.

This is the easiest and by far the best sausage gravy ever !!!!!! I don't even use the bacon it doesn't need it. I'm sure it is delicious with it. Everyone I have made this for has absolutely loved it! My husband thinks I'm the best ever because this is one of his all-time favorite things to eat.

What a great recipe! So easy to make and tastes absolutley wonderfull. I have been searching for a true southern sausage gravy & biscuits recipe and this is the one! I also made this for a work potluck and it was gone instantly! Love it! Heather- Milwaukee, WI.

This is the BEST sausage gravy. However, I leave out the onion, garlic, and salt...the bacon gives it enough salty taste. If I don't have half & half, I use regular cream! So rich and yummy!
