Servings: 2 dozen
Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: 10 min
Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients Add to grocery list

2 cup salted cocktail peanuts, coarsely chopped
1/2 bag caramel candies (approximately 22 candies) melted
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup powdered milk
1 cup marshmallow cream
1 (12-ounce) package butterscotch chips

In a medium saucepan, melt butterscotch chips until soft and pliable. To the butterscotch, add marshmallow cream and powered milk, stir using spoon until well combined. Add vanilla and remove from heat, the mixture will be very thick. Transfer mixture into a bowl and knead with hands. Once well combined, take walnut sized pieces and form into finger shapes and place on waxed paper. Dip into melted caramel and roll immediately in chopped nuts, placing back on waxed paper to harden.

Note: For variety you can dip them in melted chocolate.

Wow, I can't believe folks have almost burned their hands. I don't know what they changed about the recipe, but I don't understand why in the world you would keep doing something that was burning your hands? If you make candy or bake much, I would hope you would know that anything you are melting will be HOT when you take it off the stove and need to let it cool to be able to handle. I have made them and they were not hard, nor did I almost burn my hands. I waited until I could touch the mixture to form.

We made the Salty dogs, & these were not easy to make & resulted in near burns to hands because mixture was so hot. Don't recommend this recipe to anyone.
