Dear Paula, All of my love prayer and support are with you. Remember God id always their for us and this is the same world that crucified his son so stay strong and beautiful and know that many love you! I am also a Chef went to school in 80's and gave up the business when I began having babies since nights. weekends, holidays and 15 hour work days didn't lend to being the best Mom. But like you I was an at home chef. My kids literally witnessed hundreds of cakes, pastries, soups, and meals being made in our home. And now one of my boys (he is a twin), is in Chef school! I am a Chicago girl who married a Kentucky boy so your recipes and charm have been a great help to me! Stay strong as always and know you are loved! ~Shari

I made this cake for our church's Wednesday night supper. WOW, was it ever a hit! I made it to feed 150 (12 x the recipe) and the recipe worked beautifully. we had multiple requests for the recipe and were told many times that it was the best pumpkin pie EVER. Thanks Paula, you made us look good.

I started making this dessert about five years ago for the holiday season, and now my family and friends want pumpkin gooey year round! I took it to our church Christmas brunch and it was gone before I could turn back around with the serving utensils! Say what you want about Ms. Deen, but that southern gal can burn in the kitchen!

I made this cake about 3 days ago and the family tore into this cake like it was the last cake in the world!! Great recipe Paula! I was wondering if it would mess with the recipe if I substitute powdered sugar with splenda?

I like to make it using a lemon cake mix. I've used spiced cake mix and butter but it's good no matter.

I've made the cheese peanutbutter fudge and it's awesome! Everyone who tried it loved it and didn't know the cheese was there! Lol! I've had the pumpkin butter gooey cake of yours from Walmart and it was wonderful!!! I can't often hve these things since I'm diabetic type 1 and 2. But for an occasional sweet tooth, they're great! Love you Paula!!!

This cake has become a Thanksgiving tradition at our house since I first made it 6 or 7 years ago.It is the absolute favorite cake of my son, who's away at college. He's home now on holiday break which is from December 18th to January 13th and we are making our third Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake since he's been home. We serve it to the family and then he eats the rest of the cake with his friends. We love Paula and ger recipes so much!! Another favorite, especially of my husband's is Bayou Banana Pudding. I saw Paula and her husband, Michael, make it on a daytime talk show one day, we tried it at home, and everyone loves it too!! The only difference with our Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake is that we use half a box of Confectioner's sugar instead of the whole box to cut down the extreme sweetness. I would recommend this recipe to anyone who enjoys pumpkin pie. It's easy to make, very great for Thanksgiving or any night, for that matter!!
