Low Country Boil

Ingredients Add to grocery list

6   ears of corn, cut in half
6   4-inch smoked sausage link sausage
12   red new potatoes, cut in half if large
3 lb fresh shrimp, unpeeled
Crab boil, 2 teaspoons per quart of water

Directions

Fill a large pot with enough water to cover all of the ingredients. Add the crab boil and bring to a boil. Adjust the crab boil to suit your taste. When the water boils, add the potatoes and sausage. Cook on medium heat for 20 minutes. Add corn and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Add shrimp and cook for no more than 3 minutes. Drain and serve with warm bread.

I would like to make a pot of this WITHOUT seafood. The crab boil sounds kina to seafoodey to. Id love some ideas to replace seafood and crab boil. Any subjections???

This dinner screams summer and is just so easy; it's a sin not to make it. Here in the mid-Atlantic region, Old Bay is the crab seasoning of choice and it's perfect in this dish. Last time, I threw in some Cherrystone clams...yum! Makes me think I'm back in the Outer Banks...

i love paula, she is the greatest cook ever. i could watch her 23 hours a day. i`d have to have 1 hour for my soap. her low-country boil is out of this world. i have several of her cookbooks and i am yet to find a recipe that isn`t out of this world. ya`ll really need to try them. you won`t be sorry.

I liked the recipe better when she added melted butter with parsley and garlic that you could dip your corn and bread into. But truly a tasty, filling meal. Best with cajun sausage
