1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup self-rising flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 egg
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/8 cup honey
2/3 cup vegetable oil
Glaze:
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 8x8x2-inch pan.
In a mixing bowl, beat the oil, honey, granulated sugar, and egg. Stir the cinnamon into the flour. Stir this into the sugar mixture and mix well. Stir in the nuts. Spread the batter in the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let stand a few moments while you make a glaze. In a bowl, stir together the confectioners’ sugar, mayonnaise, milk, and vanilla. Pour the glaze over the cake and spread it with a metal spatula. Let cool, then cut into bars.

I haven't made these yet, but they sure sound good!! What I don't get is this; The picture shows the glaze poured over the bars individually after they were cut....The directions say to pour the glaze over the cake, spread with a spatula, then cut into bars.....The photo looks wonderful...that's why I stopped and read the recipe...Can I take from this that you can do it either way?

Paula Deen is soooooo sweet. Love to watch the show. She makes you feel like you are there. She's so homey and the show is so casual, and how pretty. I bet growing up with her was wonderful. I love to cook and bake but I like watching for something new or I add something to make it new. Anyway, it is a pleasure. Thanks, Cindi
