I made this casserole for 20 young men on a camp outing. They LOVED it. It was simple to make, and worked well in a camping oven. The guys asked if we could do it again! The beauty is that it is NOT too detailed. Made it up the night before, kept it in a cooler overnight, and it came out perfect.

I wish this recipe was more detailed. What kind of syrup? Do you cook it covered or no? I have it in the fridge now, ready to go in the oven in the morning. Can't wait. Thanks!

Looks great, but when do you put the cream cheese in? Did I miss something?

I plan on making this recipe for Christmas brunch but wanted to confirm that you only use 1 tsp of sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon. Thank you.

Paula, Please quit smoking. You know how bad it is for your health and how it make clothes, hair and every thing stink. I want you to smell only of butter and cinnamon.

Very good! The easy way to make Stuffed French Toast.
I took this to a Sunday School breakfast & everyone loved it. Just fyi...don't leave in oven after it's done to keep warm at all. It caused mine to burn a little bit on the bottom. My kids loved this as well!

I want to make this but was wondering if I could substitute regular syrup for sugar free? Have you tried this and if so how did it turn out??
By heather on May 07, 2011
I make this every year for Christmas morning. It is ABSOLUTELY delicious. I make it the day before and while we are opening our Santa gifts I toss it in the oven and it is ready when we are. It has become a tradition!

Is the syrup you have in the recipe maple syrup?

In the original hand written recipe for french toast casserole it states 1 tablespoon of sugar, but you state 1 teaspoon of sugar. Is this a typo or did you change the amount on purpose? I love all of your recipes and they are always a big hit any time that I cook them. Thank you so much!
