Easy Yeast Rolls Easy Yeast Rolls

Servings: 15 rolls
Prep Time: 1 hour 15 min
Cook Time: 15 min
Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients Add to grocery list

1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) melted butter
2 1/2 cup plus 1/2 - 1 cup Lady & Sons Biscuit Mix or any prepared biscuit mix
3/4 cup warm water (98-105 degrees)
1   1/4-ounce package active dry yeast

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Dissolve the yeast in the water. Put the 2 1/2 cups of biscuit mix in a large bowl; stir in the sugar. Add the yeast mixture, stirring vigorously. Sprinkle the work surface generously with the remaining 1/2 to 1 cup biscuit mix.

Turn the dough out onto the surface and knead well, 15 to 20 times. Shape the dough as desired. (I shape heaping tablespoons of dough into balls). Place on a lightly greased baking sheet, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Just before putting into oven, brush rolls with melted butter. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Brush the rolls again with melted butter while they’re hot.

PAUla I watch your show everyday and I love it when you haveJamie,Bobby, and Micheal on the show with you. I lost my husband eleven years ago, He liked to be in the kitchen with me, when we would have all the family to our house for dinner. He was my taster he would say, that if he liked what ever I was fxing,I had better make extra so he could have a snack later after eveyone went home. I cooked alot of your dishes for him and he always wanted extra to take for lunch. Now I live in a small apartment and do not cook much any more, But I still love to watch the show.So keep cooken

Saw your segment this morning showing your pear halves salad and reminded me of my grandmother's rendition of that recipe. We helped her can many jars of pears from our neighbor/cousin's pear orchard way back in the 1950's. In the wintertime, when fresh fruit was not in season, she'd open a jar of those pear halves and put each half on a leaf of fresh lettuce. In the hollow of each pear, she'd put about 1 scant teaspoon of mayonnaise, shred a little cheddar cheese and sprinkle a few raisins on top. When the cupboard was bear, she could always rustle up a meal and even could come up with a salad from the pantry! What memories you've brought to my mind today! Many thanks. Could these work as an herb roll? Wondering if by adding some basil, parsley, and chives if they would turn out good? Would I need to add anything extra if I were to add the herbs?

Mrs Deen, I just have to share this with you. My Mother had her own Restaurant in the 70's thru the 80's. She worked so very hard, I was very young when she purchased a little Bar-B-Q place in Deer Park, Texas. In a huge brick smoker pit that was out in the back, she made some of the best brisket around. She turned that little place into a huge succes. With her hard work, she added on that little hut to make a place that sat about 100 in the front, and after adding a private room in the back for private affairs, she then won most of the contracts with the plants along the Ship Channel for overtime lunches. Which was about 24/7 operation! I folded more lunch boxes in those days! She taught me to cook at a young age as well. When the cook didnt show up she would kick the end of my bed and say, com'on I need some help. whether it be washing dishes, mopping floors, delivering lunches to the plants when I got my drivers license! That was fun for a 16yr. old young girl. Mrs. Deen you remind me of my Mother! All the hard work you have done to please the people. My Mom did it from her heart too. Just like you. I wanted you to know when I watch you I think of all the good times I had with my Mom in that kitchen. I would see her so tired, but she kept on going! She cooked foods like you do. Down-home cooking, served from a steam table at lunch time. That was fun for me too. I remember we use to go to auctions for new equip. for the place. To make it better. I saw a soda fountain at a auction, like the ones in the old pharmacies. Well she got that for me. And I made more sundaes and floats for the customers. And, for myself of course. My mom passed away in the early 90's. She was 76yrs young. I miss her so much, but she made so many fond memories for me cherish. So, when I'm watching you on t.v. a beautiful thought enters my mind of my Mom. God Bless You for all your hard work. And the joy you bring to us out here. Thank You. Sincerely, Tricia Williams
