Recipe Courtesy of Paula DeenServings: 10
Prep Time: 25 min
Cook Time: 2 hours
Difficulty: Easy
2 cups canned diced tomatoes
2 cups tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup diced onions
1/2 cup diced green bell peppers
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 1/2 teaspoons The Lady’s House Seasoning
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt (recommended: The Lady’s Seasoned Salt)
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
3 small bay leaves
1/2 pound ground chicken
1/2 pound ground pork
1/2 pound ground turkey
1 pound spaghetti
1 cup grated Cheddar, divided
1 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese, divided
House Seasoning (to make your own at home):
1 cup salt
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
In a stockpot, combine the tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, onions, peppers, garlic, parsley, seasoning mixtures, sugar, and bay leaves. Bring to a boil, and then reduce the heat and simmer, covered, for 1 hour.
Crumble the ground meats in a saucepan. Cook until no pink remains, and then drain off the fat. Add the ground meats to the stockpot. Simmer for another 20 minutes. While the sauce simmers, cook the pasta according to the package directions.
Cover the bottom of a 13 by 9 by 2-inch pan with about one-third of the sauce. Add a layer of half the pasta, and then half the cheeses. Repeat the layer, ending with sauce. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Top with the remaining cheese. Return to the oven and cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Cut into squares before serving.
House Seasoning:
Mix the ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

This is very good! I added about 3 ozs. of pepperoni, quartered, to the sauce layers for some extra flavor. I put the chopped pepperoni on a plate with paper towels, microwaved it for 20 seconds to absorb the grease before adding to the sauce layers. I also used an Italian blend of cheese in the casserole, but topped the casserole with cheddar, and a sprinkle of garlic salt and parsley on top. I like to also put the oven on broil the last few minutes to melt the cheese, it browns the cheese a little and gives it an extra good flavor. My family all asked for the recipe!

I've been making this for several years and it is delicious. I used to make my own spaghetti sauce and serve it over spaghetti, but since trying this recipe, I haven't made the other in a long time. I've served it at get-togethers and gotten rave reviews.

Paula, We have visited Lady @ Sons on our visit to Savannah and I have shopped in your store several times. We have been to Uncle Bubba's twice for lunch and I totally missed this spaghetti dish. I thought Dora was just darling on your show and you both seemed to work and enjoy each so much.I can't wait to fix the baked spaghetti for my family. Thanks, Paula for all the love to your viewer's kitchens from your kitchen.

We just love this dish! The house smelled so good the last time I made it that my sons friends (half the high school football team) all stayed for dinner. Its was a big hit, they ate every bit! I would like to take it to our family reunion. Can I make it ahead and freeze it? Thanks so much, WF

Although this baked spaghetti takes a lot of time, it is well worth it! I have made it for company and for family reunions and everyone loves it! Paula and Dora hit a home run with this one!!
