There seems to me something wrong with these directions for Corries Kentucky Pie. I'm a bit confused. All ingredients are listed, but not all seem to be in the directions. Are the crusts baked at the same time as the filling or, are they baked first. I'm not a cook or baker so I guess I really need a bit more step by step directions. Thank you scarlett mcmahon

is this like a brownie?

We made this today. It is so easy to make. As you say follow the directions the first time which I did. Think I'm going to try it again with white chocolate to see how it turns out. My grandson and I watch you everyday we love you. I love watching you so much because I feel like I'm back in Macon where I was born. Our dream one day is to get to come to Savannah and meet you we try making as many things we can from watching your shows.Thank you for the joy you bring to us and the wonderful recipes we enjoy making together. My son Xander and I made this pie this evening and it was super fun to make. He enjoyed putting the pies together and I let him sprinkle the walnuts on top instead of using pecans. =) Thank you Paula for sharing your amazing recipes with my family and me. 1/13/12.

Is this similar to the Kentucky Derby Pie? My husband and I had some at a local fair and it was out-of-this-world good. I want to make it for him. Thank you for all the recipes. I love your story, Mrs. Paula.!!

I have made this pie twice. Each time something is wrong. The first time the pies spilled out all over my oven. Still tasted great. The second time the pies fell. What am I doing wrong? They taste delicious. I just want to make them look great.

to: Linda... 2 pie crusts... equals 2 pies... No top crust... They don't have top crusts..! No wonder they erupted..! How long did the 'one' take to cook?? You must have been able to eat the filling with a spoon..! DELISH, I'm sure..!! LOL

I just made these pies to the exact didnt sift flour nor measure just eyeballed im no stranger to the kitchen so i know what a cup looks like of flour without measurements. OMG! the best pies EVER!! And i used walnuts instead

Made the Kentucky Pie with the correct ingredients except I didn't sift the self-rising flour! 50 minutes latter, the pies erupted onto the cookie sheet - it was a mess, but the pie filling was great right from the cookie sheet into our mouths! So, I'm thinking, the pies are gonna be a little empty under their top shells.

How come on the Food Network it says to bake 30-40 minutes??? I baked mine for 50 minutes, like Paula said.

I used walnuts instead of pecans. Much cheaper. I just took mine out of the oven . I hoope they taste as good as they look!

My grandson is a Fudge Pie addict and this is his favorite! I do it without nuts for him and the rest of the kids but we love it anyway. So easy to make and sometimes he will even help just to get it made more often!!

Really great recipe. But I must admit, I do love the original way, the only difference is that you dont melt the chocolate chips, just mix it on in the batter. My husband calls it his chocolate chip cookie pie.
. It is yummy! Oh, and I use walnuts...works wonders! This recipe is so versitile and easy to make your own.

Good. Yummy. We used almonds instead of pecans (that's what we had). It turned out great.

My husband and I love to spend time cooking together. When we saw this pie on Paul's show, we just had to make it. It was easy and very, very delicious. Since the recipe made two pies, we're taking one to Thanksgiving Dinner!
