Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 13- by 9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat, stirring frequently, until browned and crumbly, about 10 minutes; drain well on paper towels.

Cut and discard the crusts from the bread. Cut the slices in half, and arrange in a single layer in the prepared baking dish, cutting pieces to fit as necessary to cover the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle with the sausage and cheese.

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, mustard, seasoned salt and pepper; carefully pour the mixture over the cheese.

Bake casserole until set and golden, about 40 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Paula! I am so impressed with your life. The networks are causing so many of us to realize what your presence on TV meant. Your wholesome family and love for life is sorely missed. With the condition of this world, you always made me laugh and little promotes laughter these days. Thank you! I know GOD is in control and has our back. God loves us so much! Paula, I am a diabetic as well and am looking for some diabetic recipes. Are you planning to write a recipe book for diabetics? I know I need to do better with my diabetes. My doctor is telling me to that if I don't gain control, I will need to go on insulin. Do you have any advice on healthy snacks, etc. I look forward to hearing from you concerning this subject. I just want you to know that I think this whole business of you saying something racial has been blown out of proportion. Hold your head up, this to shall pass. The media people are ridiculous. They stretch everything out of whack. Hang tough. Respectfully, Janet Gray
