Servings: 9 servings
Cook Time: 45 min
Difficulty: Easy
Cake:
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
3 eggs
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Fudge Sauce:
1 bar German chocolate
1/2 square unsweetened chocolate
1 stick butter
3 cups unsifted powdered sugar
1 2/3 cups evaporated milk
1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease and flour a sheet pan.
To make the cake, cream together sugar, shortening; add buttermilk and vanilla. Add melted chocolate, and eggs, 1 at a time; beat for 2 minutes. Sift together dry ingredients, add to creamed mixture. Beat an additional 2 minutes. Pour into prepared sheet pan. Bake for 35 minutes.
To make the sauce, melt chocolate and butter in saucepan over very low heat. Stir in powdered sugar, alternately with evaporated milk, blending well. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook and stir until mixture becomes thick and creamy, about 8 minutes. Stir in vanilla; serve warm over cake.

BETTER THAN SEX CAKE ~1 pkg. German Chocolate Cake Mix ~1 can sweetened condensed milk ~1 jar (16 to 21 oz.) Butterscotch Fudge topping ~1 large Cool Whip ~6-7 Heath Bars crushed (or 1/2 bag heath Bits) Prepare cake mix according to directions for 9 X 13 inch pan. Cool cake completely. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes about 1 inch apart in the cake. Drizzle the condensed milk over the top. Drizzle the butterscotch fudge topping over the cake. Frost with cool whip. Sprinkle with crushed Heath Bars. Chill several hours. You can chill covered several hours or ovrnight and frost just before serving. Tip: I usually make 2 cakes at a time and use 1-12.25 oz jar of butterscotch topping and 1- 11.75 oz jar of fudge topping divided between the 2 cakes. Also 1 bag of heath works for 2 cakes

I am interesting in making the Bag Lady's Chocolate Pound Cake and it shows in the accompanying picture that it has a chocolate fudge icing, but the recipe for the icing is not on the pound cake recipe. Please let me know where to find that recipe. Thanks! I always enjoy making all of Paula's recipes!
