Recipe Courtesy of Paula DeenAnything wrapped in bacon is good—but these treats are especially good because they’re also easy to make.
Servings: 2 dozen
Prep Time: 15 min
Cook Time: 15 min
Difficulty: Easy
1 24-4 1/2 inch long sesame breadsticks, package
12 slices bacon
2 teaspoon garlic salt or powder
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a mixing bowl, combine the parmesan cheese with garlic salt and set aside. Cut the bacon slices in half so they are approximately 5-inches long. Wrap each bread stick with one slice of bacon, starting at one end and ending at the other. Place wrapped bread sticks on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, and bake for 15 minutes or until bacon is browned. Remove from oven and immediately roll bread sticks in cheese mixture. Let cool and serve at room temperature.

Absolutely delicious! Made them for New Year's Eve open house, and everyone just raved about them!

I make these for our annual Halloween Party every year and people love them. I call them Smokey Bones

Followed the recipe carefully. I used hard sesame seed breadsticks. Every one of them broke while cooking in the oven. What did I do wrong? Maybe wrapped the bacon too tight?

These are delicious, and so simple. I have been making them for years. Also good with any kind of Italian meal. I do them in the microwave. No need to heat up the overn and take so much time. Just pop them in the microwave until the bacon is cooked.

Best recipe ever!! I made it for a Chistmas, and it went so fast! It tastes a lot better with pretzel rods and parmasean cheese. HEAVENLY!!! -Molly Age 11

Paula uses a hard breadstick for this recipe. A pretzel rod would work if you precooked the bacon nearly the entire way, then wrapped them around the pretzel rod and popped in the oven for just 3 minutes. The pretzel rods do not hold up in the oven well with this recipe. Happy Baking!

Couldn't you use pretzel rods??

This is one great bring a dish. Took these 3 years ago to a Derby party and something else the next year. Last year I brought these bacon sticks and everyone said not to change!

Wonderful treat!!! My dad use to make something similar for me as a child. He would use cheddar cracker stix. I can't find them anywhere. I'm so glad I found this recipe! Reminds me of fun times as a child. Thanks Paula! KellyJean

Awesome! Made for Christmas Eve! We love them!!! When making them use thiner bacon and I used tongs and put them on paper towels for 1 mins to drain a bit of the bacon grease and then straight in the parm. mixture. Wonderful!

Thank you Paula for the most delicious tasting recipe for bacon wrapped breadsticks. It was a big hit with our Thanksgiving dinner. Yummmmm Very easy to make also. Almost forgot...I used sesame breadsticks which made it even better.

I used thick sliced bacon and would recommend partially cooking the bacon first before wrapping the bread sticks. Otherwise it was awesome.

Good recipe, but had a hard time finding breadsticks in my grocery store.
