Ingredients

  • 16 pork sausage links
  • 4 or 5 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 (7 1/2 oz) package cornbread mix, prepare batter according to directions on package
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup + an extra splash milk

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450°. In a large skillet, cook sausages until golden, about 7 to 8 minutes. Drain the excess fat. Arrange the sausages in a 9-inch square baking dish.

Step 2

Slice apples, and sauté in same pan for about 2 minutes, then add to baking dish on top of sausages.

Step 3

In a large bowl, combine ingredients for cornbread batter and mix. Pour cornbread batter over all and bake for approximately 25 minutes or until cornbread is done. Serve with warm maple syrup.
