I love this! I remember eating this at the Sunday evening church potlucks when I was younger.

I just tried to make this and it was a disaster :( everything was going smooth until I poured the jello on top. See, when the pretzels baked in the oven, they became separated from the edges of the pan...probably from the cooking spray? So when it came time to pour the jello on top, the liquid found the cracks, spilled under the crust and the whole thing lifted up. So right now, the crust and cream cheese filling is floating ON TOP of the jello.. I'm hoping that the jello will still set and it will taste delicious lol. Epic fail.... WE ARE EATING IT ANYWAYS!

My friends and I ate Pretzel Salad this week made with Orange Jello and Pineapple. It was delicious-so refreshing! I want to try your recipe using the strawberries.

I use strawberry glaze in leu of jello. It's a short cut and tastes better in my opinion!!!

Instead of the jello, I use the strawberry glaze with the strawberries. A lazy fix for not making jello.

I have made this recipe before using peach jello and fresh peaches. For the pretzel crust I used half ginger snaps and pretzels. Everyone loved it and asked for the recipe. Fresh peaches and peach jello just as good as fresh strawberries and strawberry jello in the summer.

My mom has been making this for years its one of my FAVORITE desserts for a summer cookout! I always put cool-whip on top and add extra crushed pretzels on the top! YUM!!!

I'm thinking of making this with chocolate pudding instead of the strawberry/jello mixture....cream cheese, pretzels and chocolate??? Might work????

I have been looking for this recipe for years. It was always a staple when I was little at the church pot luck dinners. I have two different cookbooks from my childhood church, and none of the church ladies submitted this recipe! Thank you, Paula, for posting this recipe.

I always love making this dessert; it's the first thing to disappear at company picnics or cook-outs! Of note: no need to drain the pineapple, and don't drain or even thaw the strawberries. Placing the frozen strawberries into the warm gelatin helps to set the gelatin.

i can't make this, i'll eat it all ..

This didn't work out too well for me. I had to crush more pretzels as 2 cups did not cover the bottom of the pan. The need to keep chilling all the pans in the fridge didn't work out well as I had just gone grocery shopping and it was full. Having to chill three bowls might work out with a big test kitchen at the studio, but didn't work in my normal size fridge. For some reason it didn't set very well. It seemed so simple, but it wasn't really. I left my kitchen aid mix for a long time and the cream cheese went remained in little chunks. Good flavor, not too heavy.

I love making Strawberry Pretzel Salad. My recipe does not use pineapple, I'll have to try it. This has become my signature dish for Hope Lutheran Church for any potlucks. Do you use whole frozen strawberries or the frozen sliced strawberries? I have used both and found the sliced ones covered more.

In making the Jello Pretzel Jello Salad is there a way to keep the jello from sliding off the cream cheese? Thank you!
