Servings: 6 to 8 servings

1 (16-ounces) can pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 stick butter
1/4 cup brandy
Vanilla ice cream
Drain cherries, reserving all the juice. Melt butter in a saute pan. Stir in cornstarch and sugar until smooth. Gradually stir in the reserved cherry juice. The mixture will thicken up. When it boils, pour in the brandy and turn off the heat. Light the brandy in the pan with a lighter or long match. When the flame dies down, stir in the cherries and serve over ice cream.

I made this for myself and my wife. We were wanting something with cherries. I had saved this recipe to make one day well this one day was last night. This was so simple to make and so wonderful to eat I love to cook and this will be one of my favorite desserts to make in the future. Thank you Paula Deen I have made may of your recipes and my wife and myself loves every one of them. I would love to meet you one day and cook with you you ar my Idol and my mentor.
