Ingredients Add to grocery list

1 pound lean ground beef
2 to 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 can French onion soup
Yellow mustard
Mayonnaise
White or whole-wheat bread or buns
1 medium onion, cut into rings

Directions

Brown ground beef and drain. Sprinkle in the flour. Add onion soup, stir

and cook until meat mixture is thickened and most of the liquid is absorbed.

Spread mustard and mayonnaise, to taste, on bread. Spoon the ground beef mixture onto bread and top with onion.

OK....this is just wrong but oh so good. Comfort food at it's best. Everybody loves this. It is sooo easy to make. This is also a great recipe for children to cook. Simple ingredients. Teaching them about thickening sauces with flour and a good lesson in proper knife handling to slice the onions also. The ooo's and ah's the kids will get from everyone will definitely boost their confidence in the kitchen to move up to more complicated recipes. I think this is age appropriate for about 6 without slicing the onions, 8 if you are introducing the knives. A big YUM on this one!

These are DELICIOUS!!! I added a tablespoon or so of sour cream to the mixture. It's rich and very oniony, which I love. All it needs is a dab of mustard and a bun.
