Monster Cookies Monster Cookies Recipe Courtesy of

Ingredients Add to grocery list

1/4 cup raisins, optional
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup multi-colored chocolate candies
1   stick butter, softened
1   12-ounce jar creamy peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
3   eggs
2 teaspoon baking soda
4 1/2 cup quick-cooking oatmeal (not instant)

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or nonstick baking mats.

In a very large mixing bowl, combine the eggs and sugars. Mix well. Add the salt, vanilla, peanut butter, and butter. Mix well. Stir in the chocolate candies, chocolate chips, raisins, if using, baking soda, and oatmeal. Drop by tablespoons 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.

Bake for 8-10 minutes. Do not overbake. Let stand for about 3 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool. When cool, store in large resealable plastic bags.

Can these be frozen, either before or after baking? The recipe in the cookbooks are doubled, and I'd like to save some for Thanksgiving. Thanks!

I love these cookies because I have CELIAC DISEASE and I can eat these as they are GLUTEN FREE. I ALSO LOVE PAULA DEEN AND I MISS HER AND HER COOKING SHOW. THIS HAS BEEN A BIG LOSS TO MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WORLD WIDE.

I watch Paula Deen as much as time allows me. She's terrific, I just love her, she makes you feel right at home when you watch her shows. I just love her recipe's. I'll be baking alot for christmas, so I'm definately going to look up alot of her recipes that are easy and delicious. How appropriate it is for this time of year. Actually, all her recipe's are out of this world. It's so great how Paula has her family involved, that makes it even more special. love shelly

I remember making these cookies with my grandma when I was a child, back in the 70"s, We made them in dishpans because we made so many, Thank you so much for bringing back such wonderful memories for me.
