Recipe Courtesy of Damon FowlerServings: 4 servings
Prep Time: 15 min
Cook Time: 55 min
Difficulty: Easy
4 center-cut pork chops, 1-inch thick
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Ground cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour, spread on a plate
2 medium green bell peppers, stemmed, cored, and membranes removed, cut into strips
2 yellow onions, trimmed, cut lengthwise
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups chicken broth
2 to 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
Trim the excess fat from the chops and season well with salt, pepper, and cayenne. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Lightly roll the chops in flour, shake off the excess, and slip them into the pan. Brown well, about 3 minutes per side, and remove them to a plate.
Add the bell peppers and onions, to the skillet, and saute until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook until fragrant, about half a minute longer. Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet. Add chops to pan and place vegetables on top of pork chops. Pour in the broth and sprinkle with Worcestershire sauce. Cover pan with foil and allow to simmer for 45 minutes or until chops are tender.

Put these in a crock pot and let them cook on high 2 hrs. then on low for 4 hrs. Layed the chops, onions, bell pepper. Then added a package of brown gravy mix. The meat just fell off the bone. We had guest over and he just couldn't get enough. Had to give him the recipe.

Iadd salt & pepper to pork chops, add garlic powder and add chicken seasoning also. brown on one side, turn over to brown on other side and after they have cooked for awhile,I add 4 to 5 cans of cut green beens and liquid from 1 or 2 cans of the beans and discard rest of liquid.cover and let cook until pork chops are completely done and your canned beans will taste like fresh cooked green beans. this has been a favorite meal in our family for years.

I decided to make this recipe for my husband last night. I usually cook very low calorie, low fat meals. But I thought it would be nice to make him something special and men love your cooking. I have to say, he was so impressed he asked me to buy your cook book so I can make him more "manly meals". I just wanted to thank you. And I will be buying your cookbook.

I'm not much of a pork fan, but my husband likes it so I decided to try this dish. It was great! The chops were so tender, and had a really good flavor. This is a definite keeper!

Love your show and use your cookbooks, reminds me of my mothers cooking. Makes me wish I were a better cook. I can still dream. I would like to see a cookbook for two people also, now that I have the time to cook.
