A bone in roast will cook faster than a boneless roast because the bone conducts heat.

Hash Brown Quiche

Ingredients:

3 cups, shredded frozen hash browns, thawed and drained
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, melted
3 large eggs, beaten
1 cup half-and-half
3/4 cup diced cooked ham
1/2 cup diced green onions
1 cup shredded Cheddar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Gently press the drained hash browns between paper towels to dry them as best as possible. In a 9-inch pie plate, toss the hash browns with the melted butter into the plate. Press them into the bottom and up the sides to form a crust. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and starting to crisp.

Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. When the hash brown crust is ready pour the egg mixture over it and return to the oven.

Lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees F and bake for about 30 minutes until the quiche is light golden brown on top and puffed.

So easy!! Made it twice. Once with ham and once with bacon. I preferred the ham but both were delicious. Maybe I'll try sausage next time...

I shred fresh potatoes, blot the extra moisture and followed the recipe as written. Every time I serve this someone wants this recipe. It's excellent.

made this last night and everyone went back for seconds. I had heated up some of the leftover ham and no one wanted that. I will make this recipe again.

Don't quite know if it needed more butter or less hash browns for the crust, but it tasted very potatoey. Regardless, it was delicious!

I have used this recipe several times...each time using different meats. My favorite is substituting cubed chicken breast seasoned with salt, pepper, chili powder and a tablespoon of honey, then sauteed in butter

This is awsome, I have made this many times and my guest can't get enough of it. It's been requested for parties, brunches and Sunday mornings. It's easy, quick and comforting. Carol Anne Guirlando Janesville, Wisconsin
