Paula, we absoutely love, love your pecan pies. Last year we lived in Wytheville, Virginia after I lost my job, times were hard, you hear me. Anyway, about the only thing we could afford was Paula Deen's pecan pies at Walmart. We are here to tell you, that was the BEST thing we ever put in our mouth. I'll guarantee you I, Phil and our 29 year old Marine son Sam, ate at least 3 pies a day. It was a good thing too because we couldn't affor much more. Phil (my husband of 33 years) is diabetic and insulen dependent, and it did not affect him at all, thank God. Anyway, we just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed your pies. We are headed back to Walmart (Jacksonville, Florida) tomorrow in hopes they will have your pies. We have checked for the last couple of weeks, but none yet. Ship um out girl, we are waiting. Hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving and an even Merrier Christmas. God Bless

I can't find a recipe for the chocolate pie/cake Paula made last week. It was melted chocolate and had nuts, etc..... I was then poured into a flour pie shell (which you said was store bought). You also sad it was a Kentucky Derby dessert. When it was cut you cut right through the pie tin. I hope this will help you know which recipe I mean. It was a hectic day and I wasn't paying close attention. I watch your show religiously and love Paula and Uncle BaBa and the "boys". I wanted to serve this pie on Thanksgiving but now I don't know. Thanks for your show, it helps my depression and everything else. Sandi

Hey Paula, I like watching you on your show! My girlfriend and I are going to make this Bourbon Pecan Pie this weekend! Let you know how it turns out! I went home to Louisiana on Christmas break and picked up some home-grown pecans to make it with! I hope I can come to Georgia one day and meet you! Your a real classy southern woman! Best wishes to you and yours this New Year! from Billy S.

Yeah I agree with others.. it needs 20 more min of cooking.. even the basic pecan pie on back of karo bottle is 65 min.. 35 and mine was pure jello.. 20 min more.. finally sturdy.. make sure you cook till at least 45 min to make sure its firm and finished so you dont get runny pie..

I made two of these for Thanksgiving and we loved every bite. I used an extra tablespoon of dark rum for the extra flavor and cooked them about fifteen minutes longer than was called for. Just didn't seem like they were done enough before that. I am making four of these pies for Christmas weekend! A huge hit in this house!

I made this pie for Thanksgiving. It is excellent. I added a few more minutes baking time to make sure that the bottom crust was cooked through. Just covered the edges with foil so it didn't burn. My son, who doesn't eat pecan pie, tried it and loved it.

I have been making this recipe for for 4 years now. It is a huge hit and it's what I am asked to bring every year for Thanksgiving. It definitely needs about 20 minutes more of baking time, but other than that its foolproof! When we started making this my daughter was 9 and would help, now she tackles it on her own. Paula's recipe has now become a family tradtion. THANKS PAULA!
